Artist and printmaker Clare Caulfield has travelled to, and been inspired by, many of the world’s greatest cities: Paris, Venice, New York, Rome, Prague, Istanbul & Sydney, to name just a few, but for the first time, as part of the Yorkshire’s Coast & Sea Exhibition, Clare’s work will be showcased in perhaps the prettiest of them all, Muker in Upper Swaledale.

Clare’s line drawings and drypoint prints, combining elements of chine-collie to add subtle colour, perfectly capture the hustle and bustle of Yorkshire’s coastal towns and villages: house stacked upon house; bright red tiled roofs; fishing boats drawn up on shore , folk milling about on the narrow streets whilst seagulls wheel above their heads; a snapshot in time captured in Clare’s unique, spontaneous, style.

When we saw Clare’s work we instantly fell in love. We’ve no doubt you will too.

'A few years ago, I collaborated with C.P. Company, who reproduced five of my Paris, Venice, New York and London drawings and paintings on exclusive T-shirt designs for their Summer 2014 collection across Europe. I was really excited to be contacted by them again earlier this year, about introducing my T-shirts to their stores in Japan this summer. They’re keen to promote the artist behind the artwork so are also displaying a large-scale panel depicting my painting of New York’s Flatiron Building in three of their Tokyo shops. It’s a fantastic opportunity to get my work seen in Japan, a place I would love to draw and add to my collection one day..'

For the first time, Crafty Fox Market is leaving London and heading north for a very special event at the Black Swan, 37 Call Lane to bring our unique shopping experience to the people of Leeds.. There will be a whole range of stalls, workshops, tunes, food and drinks to enjoy.

'INSPIRED BY HARROGATE' - A NEW COLLECTION OF ORIGINAL DRYPOINTS - APRIL 2016

Clare was recently commissioned by the Mercer Art Gallery to produce a series of work titled "Inspired by Harrogate"

She has produced a series of three original drypoints focusing on the iconic museum buildings within Harrogate town centre. This intaglio printmaking method allowed her to explore the intricate architectural detail of these beautiful buildings through the use of line and tone.  This technique doesn't lend it self to creating many prints as the plate wears down very quickly during the printing process and so the edition is limited to just ten prints each. 

The buildings selected are: The Royal Baths, The Royal Hall and The Royal Pump Room Museum. 

This collection is exclusively available to purchase at the Mercer Art Gallery Shop.

FRAMED ART PRINTS - LIMITED COLLECTION WITH TARGET USA -  JANUARY 2016

This year starts off with an exciting new venture with Target in the United States.  They have produced two of my paintings as framed art which is part of a special limited time only feature both in store and online.
